SHOUTS, (T)RAP, GROOVE and 069 – DOUX from Frankfurt am Main, Germany do not look at other bands or the United States to define their style. In lieu they mix their own sound of precision and rawness.
DOUX things come to those who wait. To find their style and sound DOUX have experimented for long. The result justifies that process. Barely any band sounds similar, especially in Germany. The Nu Metal band from Frankfurt, Germany handles many things differently than most bands. Be it their enactment of their music videos, beats or the way of recording. Raw live recordings are combined with a precise overdub production. Guitarist Manu explains: “It shouldn’t sound like plastic and the samples that simply every other band uses.” DOUX sound as natural as possible. Here nothing is artificial, triggered or maximal pompous. ”Our sound is the opposite of most current metal bands”, Tom adds, also guitarist. The same applies for the euphoric and energetic vocals. P.O.D.-chords meet filtered drums, Deftones-chant, Slipknot-madness and Trap on a major level. DOUX play contemporary Nu Metal that shows its roots and simultaneously develops its very own character. By now the initial trio has turned into a quartet. Since then they’re rehearsing intensively and fine-tuning the technical execution of their live show. Effects on beats, guitars and vocals are momentarily integrated into the set. For the question where DOUX are heading, vocalist Mert knows just one answer: “Playing shows, keep on perfecting and improving. It started with the identification stage, then the recording, now the live stage follows.”
